Sometimes the jokes write themselves.

As I was doing some college baseball research tonight, it peaked my interest to look into the newest member of D1 baseball, the Le Moyne College Dolphins from DeWitt, New York.

Cool logo, nice colors, great name.

First impression was good.

Then it got better... and better... and even BETTER.

I was interested in if they had any MLB players, and they did.

Jim Deshaies name popped up. If you don't know Jim Deshaies, that's okay, he is the current color-commentator for the Chicago Cubs, former color commentator for the Houston Astros, and obviously a former MLB pitcher from 1984-1995. He's great on the broadcasts, but did you know he still holds the MLB record for at-bats WITHOUT an extra-base hit (373)

Pretty cool stuff, especially for me who listened to him broadcast Astros games throughout my childhood on FOX Sports Southwest.

Le Moyne College also has a 2023 MLB All-Star, Josiah Gray, from the Washington Nationals. He was drafted in 2018 where he went 11-0 with a 1.25ERA in 13 starts at Division 2 level. He was traded from the Dodgers to the Nationals in the Max Scherzer/Trea Turner mega trade.

Really cool.

But wait it gets better...

THE MOST HATED MAN IN BASEBALL, Commisioner Rob Manfred, ATTENDED LE MOYNE.

Are you kidding me? Am I going to have to hate this team for that reason alone?

At least Manbutt didn't play baseball for the Dolphins, he "elected" to play tennis instead according to Wikipedia.

But then I got to their stadium name and I couldn't help but let out a "hehehehehe"

Dick Rockwell Field.

Dick. Rock. Well.

I mean COME ON!!!!

The field was named after long-time Head Coach and former Athletic Director of Le Moyne but that's all the info I have.

To be honest, I'm afraid to Google the name because who knows what links will pop up.

But we can all agree that this is the hardest ballpark in college baseball.

Y'all take care
