Jack Radel has been the clear anchor of Notre Dame's rotation and one of the more quietly compelling arms in this draft class. Through 47.1 innings in 2026 he's posting a 2.85 ERA, 12.17 K/9, 1.90 BB/9, and a 0.82 WHIP while holding opposing hitters to a .168 average and striking out 64. The signature performance of the year came against No. 14 Clemson, where he threw a complete-game shutout on four hits, no walks, and eight strikeouts. The arsenal is built on a 92-95 mph cut-ride fastball that gives him tremendous arsenal malleability. The same supination bias allows him to spin a 82-84 curveball and manipulate a cutter and changeup all from a consistent arm path, making his release point difficult to read. None of the individual pitch shapes are true outliers in isolation, but the pitchability to sequence them effectively off the fastball tunnel is what makes the profile work. Head coach Shawn Stiffler described the 2026 version of Radel as "much more polished," crediting refinement in both fastball command and breaking ball confidence. The real upside conversation is about what a pro org does with the arsenal architecture. The malleability built into his supination profile means there are legitimate pitch-shaping levers to pull that could push individual offerings into plus territory.
