Witherspoon can run the fastball up to 99 mph, while sitting in the 94-97 range. His slider is his go to secondary pitch. He has feel for the pitch and throws it at 85 mph with 2” of lift and 4” of glove-side. His change-up is thrown in the upper 80s, and can get into the low 90s, but the shape is poor. He throws a cutter as well in limited samples. The mix seems a bit incomplete and he’s not an outstanding mover, but the stuff plays on its own. He may not be a starter in pro ball, but there’s upside in there as a reliever.

Malachi, the twin brother of Kyson Witherspoon, fits in the 3rd round area for me. He’s been up to 99 on the fastball this year, sitting at 96 mph. The movement profile is poor, with 12” of vertical break and 12” of arm-side, which will hold the offering back. His 89 mph slider is the best profile here, with lift and 6” of glove-side. His curveball is a big 2-plane shape at 81 mph and has potential if he can command it, with a sinker profile that he’ll likely need to move towards going forward. There’s also a CT and CH. For me, the velocity, athleticism, and the wide range of possibilities for the arsenal make the profile.

Jaxon Willits is a 6'0", 202-pound switch-hitting shortstop out of Oklahoma who carries a pedigree as the older brother of 2025 first-overall pick Eli Willits. Across 347 PA spanning 2025 and 2026, Willits has slashed .313/.425/.525 with 11 home runs, 16 doubles, 17 stolen bases, and a sterling 15.9% BB% that immediately signals an advanced, disciplined approach. The 2025-to-2026 trajectory is encouraging, as after posting a solid .302/.409/.495 line as a sophomore, Willits has broken out in 2026 to the tune of .357/.481/.643 with a 10.4% InZoneWhiff% and a 17.8% BB%, numbers that reflect real in-game refinement. The switch-hitting profile adds a layer of versatility worth noting: from the left side he generates more slug and thump, posting a .366/.423/.549 line against lefties with three home runs, while from the right side he makes more consistent contact against righties at .291/.426/.515 with eight home runs and a 10.1% InZoneWhiff%. Willits seems to be a legitimate two-sided threat rather than just a platoon profile. His 16.0% chase rate is among the better marks you'll find at this level, and paired with a 22.4% barrel rate, the underlying contact quality is noteworthy. Willits profiles as a high-floor, potentially plus-OBP middle infielder with the baseball IQ and polish to move quickly.

LJ Mercurius is a right-handed junior out of Oklahoma who may be the most underrated arm in the Big 12 this season. The calling card is his command, shown by a 73.6% FPStk%, 7.3% BB%, and 0.81 WHIP so far in 2026. Mercurius is a pitcher who attacks hitters relentlessly and makes them earn everything, and his 26.8% chase rate confirms that the zone-pounding isn't just getting him into hitter's counts, it's actively generating poor swing decisions. The fastball sits 93-95 with above-average carry and the kind of elite command that plays up the raw velocity. His cutter at 82-85 flirts with gyro territory at times, but the underlying concept is sound and there's a clear pro-ball development pathway toward adding more depth while maintaining the velocity band, a shape adjustment that could make it a true plus offering. The changeup is the crown jewel of his secondaries, showing elite feel and arm-speed maintenance with natural fade that he locates with elite precision for a college arm. A curveball addition down the line is the obvious next step for arsenal expansion, and at 6'3" and 180 pounds there's still physical projection remaining. Mercurius is a high-floor, low-risk starter profile with a cleaner delivery and command profile than most arms you'll find in this class.

He’s a very good receiver behind the plate with questions on the arm. He projects as an average defender behind the dish for me, but only time will tell. Offensively, this is another guy who’s swinging >50% of the time, with the chase and K numbers to prove it. The bat-to-ball skills and launch profiles are both above-average, with the raw power grading as a 50 for me. This is another guy who did himself a ton of favors on the Cape, slashing .299/.372/.496 in 36 games.
